What settings should I use for my firewall ?

The firewall settings depend on which version of Forté you use as well as which firewall software is installed on your machine. For networked versions of Forté access is required for the following components

  • Forté Bootstrap Loader - this is the file <forte_install_dir>\bin\apploader4.exe.
  • Firebird SQL Server - <forte_install_dir>\bin\fbserver.exe. NB: This may or may not be present depending on which Forté modules are loaded.
  • Forté CRM - <forte_install_dir>\bin\forte.exe.

where <forte_install_dir> is the location where you installed Forté, e.g. C:\Program Files\Forte.
