About Forté CRM Ltd

Forté CRM Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of FAB Software Ltd located in Christchurch, New Zealand. FAB Software was established in 1994 primarily developing software for the financial services industry. It was founded by Brendan Canton, Jonathan Hull and Scott Hamilton-Hill. In early 2004 work began on the next generation product - Forté. The approach taken was to design a general CRM tool that was modularized so industry specific needs could be quickly and easily written. Also in 2004 FAB Software merged with Nozicle Ltd, and the technology developed by Nozicle was merged into the Forté software products. Nozicle founder, Dr Jonathan Robinson, became the fourth director of FAB Software.

Although no longer involved in the day to day activity of FAB Software, Brendan and Scott remain on the board of directors as non-executive directors.

Forté CRM Ltd was established to market and promote the Forté range of software products developed by FAB Software.
 
Management Team

ImageJonathan Hull, Chief Executive.

Jonathan received a certificate in applied science (computing) from CPIT. He worked in the US, then in the UK for a large insurance company, then worked for a New Zealand financial research house. Jonathan has been involved in SAP implementation and integration. Jonathan oversees the day to day operations of Forté CRM Ltd and database development.

 

ImageDr Jonathan Robinson, CTO, Executive Director.

Dr Jonathan Robinson has worked in the technical side of the television industry; as a scientist for the New Zealand Military; and has held various senior development and management roles in the IT industry. He received a BSc in physics/maths from Auckland University in 1993, a postgraduate diploma in electronics from Otago University in 1994, an MSc in physics from Otago University in 1995 and a PhD in 2004 from Auckland University, specializing in the application of Neural Networks to compression of digital images. Jonathan also has a world wide patent in digital compression. Among other things, Jonathan oversees the development of all Forté software products.
 
Key People

ImageLucius Botha, Sales Manager.

Originally from South Africa, Lucius worked as a 'Computer Programmer and Solution Analyst' trainer for 2 years. Moving away from training he developed front and back end applications while administering IT operations for a range of retail companies. He then went to England to work in sales and marketing, gaining better knowledge and understanding to customer relationships and business to business processes. Lucius arrived in New Zealand in 2004 and joined the team at FAB Software where he is responsible for sales and account management.

 

ImageMike Aston, Development Team Leader.

Mike joined FAB in 2004 as a software developer. Previously in management at Foodstuffs Blenheim whilst simultaneously working as a volunteer Fire Fighter, he decided to retrain in software development. Mike graduated from Canterbury University in 2003 with a BSc majoring in computer science. Mike's interests include wakeboarding, slalom skiing, windsurfing and anything that involves boats. He also enjoys running and mountain biking with his wife Jo around Canterbury’s many scenic tracks.
